Going on 8 Months

Here's Mr. Kalen doing what he does best....getting into trouble. He is such an inquisitive little guy. If he sees anything new, he's off to check it out. He's starting to stand up now. He hasn't grasped the idea that once he's up he has to come down at some point, he'll just let go with his hands and tumble over. I'm usually there to catch him before he falls so he hasn't bumped his head on anything yet. We went to our first photo session this week. Here's a glimpse of his picture. He did such a great job and the photographer was a natural with little kids, she did a really good job. I can't wait to see the rest of his pictures.

To Eat or Not To Eat, That is the Question

As some of you may know or not know...Kalen has not been a big fan of baby food. We went in for his 6 month Dr. Checkup and he's a little low on the weight. He only gained 4 oz in the past 2 months. So my pediatrician recommended I try feeding him back to back, instead of at breakfast and dinner in hopes of getting him to eat more and that he wouldn't hold out until he got to breast-feed. Well I decided to come up with my own solution. I just poured some baby oatmeal on his highchair to see what he would do and as you can see from the video, he actually starts eating it.

You can also tell he takes after his dad. I'm pretty sure he's going to like to break things as he gets older. Notice his big smile as he flies his truck off the highchair.

Watch out world, Here I Come.....

Let the crawling begin.....Kalen is just about crawling around. He's doing what we call the army crawl. It's been pretty cool to watch him figure it out. He's also recently just begun saying ma ma.... although i like to believe he's actually saying ma ma, he's really saying mamamamamamamam and nanananana. Us Mama's like to think they really know what they are saying though:) What else is new? He's moving his hand like he's waving bye-bye, which impresses people, until I tell them, that he does it all the time and he's not saying bye-bye to them. People still think he's a little girl, I'm not sure what else I can do to make him look anymore boy than what I'm doing, he wears skater tshirts with skulls and surfer tshirts. Oh well maybe that will be a good thing when he's older, he'll be the pretty boy and be our little model or something.

Kalen will be turning 7 months in about a week. He needed the first 6 months to get use to the world or something, he's finally eased up on the crying for me. I no longer feel the need to pull out my hair and wonder if they gave me the wrong baby at the hospital:) Now the fun begins and soon I'll be chasing him around the house telling him no-no to everything.
