7 Weeks Old

I'm finally getting around to putting Kalen's 6 week pictures up along with some 7 week old ones. He is getting so big. And loves to sit and talk to us and show us his big gummy smile. I still haven't been able to take a picture of that, since he can't see me behind the camera:) He's slowly taking to the bottle better. We found that if we feed him on his changing table he won't cry as much. His changing table seems to be the happiest place on earth for him, we don't know why he loves it so much. So I have to tell you the story behind the video...a guy offered to take our picture at the coffee shop yesterday, but instead the video was turned on, we thought it was pretty funny since we are sitting there with big ol' cheesey smiles thinking he's taking a picture instead:)

It's KGB to you

Kalen is about 5 weeks old now. He just keeps getting bigger and turning more into a baby. I'm trying to savor each day that goes by, since i know they won't last forever. I can't really say anything has gotten easier thus far. He is definitely our little high-needs baby and we try our best to keep him happy. He is starting to talk and smile more. It's the most adorable thing when he talks to us. I can't catch it in a picture or i would share it with everyone. We had a successful bottle feeding the other day, so we are going to continue working on that until he takes it without crying at all. That will be a day worth celebrating, then i will know that i can get out of the house without worrying if he will be hungry. The training continues...

Watch Out, I'm already 1 Month Old

I can't believe Kalen is already 1 month old. It feels like we just brought him home. But then on the other hand, on those nights when he won't stop crying for anything, except occasionally when we turn on the country music, it feels like we will never get through the newborn phase. We have to remind ourselves that he'll be all grown up before we know it and to savor these moments when he's a baby. He's starting to smile at us when he makes eye contact, which makes it all worth it. We've also introduced the bottle. Today was the first day he drank from the bottle without having a melt-down about it, so Adam gets to start helping out with the feedings:)

3 Weeks Old

We had lots of firsts this week. Kalen went on his first train ride to Santa Barbara. He took his first bath and he loved the water. We took our first road trip to Long Beach for Jennifer's wedding. He did good the whole way, until we were about 15 minutes away, he decided he was hungry and screamed until we could pull over and feed him. We also had lots of fun with his cousins Addi and Paige. We went on lots of walks on the promenade. He really loves to be outside, he loves to be in his stroller and moving. I think we already have a nature boy on our hands.
