Still Counting Down

Well the foot reflexology did not seem to work for me, as I still have the baby inside of me instead of holding him:) We go back to the Dr. this afternoon. Hopefully we will have some progress to report. I took a long walk yesterday, trying to get Kalen to come on out, almost thought my water broke last night, but it was a false call....we will just blame that on poor kegel muscles. I've also been taking blue and black cohosh, which is suppose to encourage labor to start...Tomorrow I'll try the Castor oil, my last resort, which I'm waiting until the last minute to do. Saturday is also the full moon, which I've heard rumors, that lots of women go into labor on that day. So the wait continues....

Countdown to Sunday

I went and had a massage and foot reflexology today. If it works, something should start in the next 24 hours. She said to take a long walk this afternoon and drink lots of water, so that's what I'll be doing right after my nap:) Here we are at the beach, letting out little lochness monster do some laps.

41 Weeks

We had our ultrasound today. Kalen passed his biophysical exam with an 8 out of 8. He's already our star test taker:) Everything still looks good in there, so we have another week to see if he will come out on his own. If he doesn't, we go to the hospital on Sunday night and i get some drug that is suppose to help me start dilating. I have to spend the night in the hospital and then hopefully it will kick start me into labor, if not, then i get all those fun other drugs, like pitocin and probably an epidural since i won't be able to move around much with a monitor attached to me. But if that's the way it has to be, then I'm fine with it. All we care about is getting a happy, healthy baby in the end. So i will continue trying some labor encouragement tricks that I've read about and hopefully we can get Kalen out of there before Sunday. He's up to 8 pounds. Not going to be such a small baby after all. Adam calendared him in to come out on Wednesday at Noon. We will see if Kalen heard that one:)

4 Days After

So it's Saturday the 23rd, our 6 year anniversary, 4 days after the due date and still no baby or signs he will be coming soon. We've been trying all the myths out to see if that will help me go into labor- spicy food from Casa, Round Table Pizza, walking on the beach, balsamic vinegar.....nothing seems to be helping. He's just not ready to come into the world, which I'm fine with. I would rather have him be ready then go in and get him too early. We have our Ultrasound tomorrow, so hopefully they say everything checks out OK and he can hang out in there for a while longer, maybe he just needs another week:) I hope so. D-Day Minus 1

Went to the dr. this morning. Baby's heartbeat is still doing good and he's still moving around a lot. He's just not ready to come out yet. We go in for another ultrasound on Monday if he doesn't come out by then, to make sure everything still looks good inside and he's not in any danger. My midwife is very cool - she just reconfirmed that he'll come out when he's ready and as long as he's healthy, there's no reason to rush things. I'm trying very hard to take it one day at a time and not focus too much on starting labor. Adam and I have both been talking to Kalen and letting him know that we are excited to see him and he can come out anytime. I think we are just soo excited to meet him that we want him to make his entrance sooner than later:)

CountDown

So we are 4 days away from the due date. I'm not expecting to go into labor before then. I still don't feel like my body is preparing for labor yet. Kalen has been moving a lot latey, so he must be cozy in there still. I've been sleeping less and less. I'm not sure if it's becuase I'm getting excited about meeting Kalen or if my body is in some way preparing me for after he is here. There's not much left for us to do to get ready for Kalen to be in our lives. Adam is going to tackle the rest of the house projects when he's home after Kalen is born. He's planning on taking a few weeks off to help out with things and bond with the new family member. We go in to the Dr. on Monday, so we'll see if anything is progressing.....to be continued:)

Visited the Dr. on Friday and I'm not dialated at this point. Looks like Kalen will be coming at his own sweet pace. We finally have his room finished, except for a few little things. I need to find curtains and curtain rods and a little table to go next to the chair. Here's a couple pics of his room so far.

Pregnancy

June 6th - the due date is fast approaching. I keep waiting to go into labor. We have our next Dr. appt. on Friday and they will do an exam to see if I've dilated at all so far. I'm hoping i have...i keep hearing about people who are dilated and don't ever realize it and I'm hoping that I'm one of those people:)
